About the author
My name is Aki Järvinen. I’m a game designer, consultant, lecturer, theorist, and developer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. At present, I teach and research game design at the IT University of Copenhagen, and work on game design and consulting projects through my company, mygamestudies.com.
This site represented my web presence through 2003 to early 2008, while I was writing my Ph.D. on theories and methods for game studies and design. Since then, I have directed my personal brand and expertise in games elsewhere.
