					<description>Aki,

You are right!! Your's is the most comprehensive article on game genre.

I am a Ph.D student at DePaul University's school of Computer and Digital Media (department- Information Systems).

I could really use your inputs on a topic that I am struggling with right now.

My initial area of research was Personality and Game Genre (essentially creating a personality profile based on various game genre). Since I could not find a well developed genre scheme for games, my advisor has suggested that I switch my topic to &quot; developing a game genre by using the lexical approcah (i.e. creating a dictionary of all words related to describing games . A similar approach was used in personality study)

I wanted to check with you about two things.

1. As an expert in this field, do you think a 'lexical approach' is a viable approach to study game genre?

2. Is 'game genre' a worthwhile topic to pursue. ( Is there enough demand in the industry/academia) for a genre study.

Thanks for your website and your dissertation. It is very helpful and I refer to it a lot.

Regards
Chitra

					<description>Hi
I was looking for researcher in games studies and bump into your blog. Like to know your opinion what are the factors that determine how players &quot;read&quot; games. Do they walk away with the message the game designer want them to take away or do they &quot;read&quot; the game differently to what the designer have in mind?

Hope you could email me your respond.
