Two new chapter drafts
Ok, finally there is progress! Two chapters where I try to understand games, and especially playing games, in light of a number of concepts from study of cognition and emotion: Pretense, Enjoyment, Pleasure. Games’ particular nature as a source of entertainment is on the agenda as well. You’ll find the PDFs through the links below, and from the column on the right:
Chapter 7: Cognition, Emotion, and Pretense in Gaming Encounters
Chapter 8: Entertainment, Enjoyment, and Pleasure in Player Experiences
The table of contents is updated once again. The rest of the chapters (three of them, 9 to 11) on player experience should follow soon, I hope.
