My lucky 13th?

Once again I have a deadline, and this time I will have to make it. On Friday the 13th of April I will deliver the manuscript to the faculty, in order to for the procedures towards the defense to begin. This means I’ll be hard at work all through the Easter holidays.

During the last month, I have tried to find a solution for the case studies section. I believe now I have arrived at one: rather than writing specific analyses of particular games, I will use the identical sample of approximately 100 games in each of my analysis methods, and then pick out particularly interesting findings and present them as sort of annotated analysis notes in the case studies.

The ‘100+ games project’ will function as the overall empirical sample of the thesis and as such, also as a basis for the analysis methods - and their implementations as online tools & databases, hopefully appearing on this site before the summer.

Also, I have to make a decision on how I will distribute chapters in the future…most of them have been revised as the whole structure is coming together. For instance, long and laborous tables in, e.g., chapter 10, will be moved to appendixes, with the main findings summarised in the actual body of work.

Now it is time to start copying and pasting the stuff to the university doctorate thesis template - a headache of its own, but a sign of progress, nevertheless :)
