Chapter 5: Psycho-Ludology
No, the post is not about game studies gone insane, even though Frasca-sama is definitely not a serious person :)
Ok, let’s drop the inside jokes. The post is, of course, about the first chapter in part III of the thesis. In the chapter, titled ‘Key concepts in Psychology in Terms of Ludology’, I go through a number of psychological concepts in light of their usefulness for understanding player experiences. I’ve included the foreword to part III into the PDF, as it hints at the subsequent chapters (6-8) on goals and plans, on game-related emotions, and on enjoyment and pleasures of games.
